I've heard of this seemingly for a very long time but know nothing about it. I think I'm going to start watching some more sci-fi and see if I can get into it. All I ever see anymore are horror films.

Must admit I been watching more horror than SCFI for a while now. I kinda love both.

Glad you liked it,I liked it as well but if you can get your hands on the DVD of the original BBC series I recommend you do as that is miles better.

Reviving this thread even if the dreaded Ian started it....LOL
Started watching this last night. I need to rewatch it. I was a bit odd, and I must admit i got a bit lost with only catching bits and pieces of it. Since I am not familiar with the books anything I should know of it without giving away too many details?

hoestly, if you read the books, it will make a bit more sense. Douglas Adams wrote (as far as i know) three hitch hikers books, Guide, Resturant at the end of the universe, and so long and thanks for all the fish. read em at your peril though... you are liable to break sommink with the laughing

I prefer the BBC series over the new movie. Dodgy effects simply add to the charm.

Like i told Lady... read the books, then see the movie, but if ya don't get British humour, don't bother, the whole thing will go right over your head
