Seems like all mainstream artists are trying to act like they are politically and socially conscious lately. Bunch of fucking money grubbers is what they are. They want to criticize the government because its "in" right now to do that, and they will sell more records. I'll stick to my bands who have been criticizing the government and politics of today since they first started out. The ones who are there just to get their message out.

Ok I watched virtually the entire song and half the video. I have to wonder why all of these little holier-than-thou condescending clowns weren't turning out the tunes when Clinton was bombing Bosnia and killing thousands of innocent people. They were nowhere to be found when the massacre at Waco took place either under Clinton as well. Bush spends money like a drunken sailor for all of their pet causes like recently blowing 30 billion on "Aids in Africa" and the "No Child Left Behind" thing he collaborated with the ultra-leftist Kennedy on. Why don't they praise him for that?? I said at Wicked I don't understand why the libs hate him so much considering he's one of them, which is the major reason I can stand him anymore. And this war thing...I'm sick of it like everyone else and in retrospect we should have never went in but we're there now so win the damn thing!! Guys keep getting killed for no damn reason because Bush is too afraid of "total war" which would end it in a week. Oh, and were are all the left-wingers like Amnesty International, the ACLU and the twits in Hollywood who say they are so concerned with human rights but you never hear a peep out of them when our soldiers and civilians as well are kidnapped, tortured and beheaded by those backward savages over there. But they're the first ones to open their traps when some terrorist psychopath is seen with panties on his head at one of the military prisons they're being kept in. And one more thing...I don't like left-wing garbage in music or movies and I don't like right-wing stuff in them either (the latter is extremely rare however). Nowadays you can't even watch a damn TV show without hearing some crack about how horrible America is. I'm tired of all that shit!! There, I'm done

I just read this online: Dear Ms. Pink: Let's have a reality check, shall we? In your song, "Dear Mr. President" (which also features the Indigo Girls), you blame President Bush for, apparently, everything that is wrong with America and the world. According to your song, President Bush is responsible for homelessness, for mothers losing their children (presumably in war), for juvenile criminal behavior, for the plight of expecting mothers being paid the minimum wage, for the destruction of homes in war, and again for homelessness. You even conflate President Bush with Vice President Cheney and accuse the former of possibly hating his daughter because she's gay, even though it is Vice President Cheney's daughter, Mary Cheney, who is a lesbian, and both the Vice President and his wife have been nothing but supportive of her. Thus do you demonstrate that you cannot even grasp the basic facts behind that which you presume to pontificate about in the trash you call music.
Perhaps the most astonishing thing, however, is that you also identify yourself with the homeless, grieving mothers, juvenile criminals, mothers in poverty, those whose homes have been destroyed by war, and the Vice President's lesbian daughter - even though, it should be pointed out, you have never lived any of these experiences. In fact, your own experience is quite the opposite. As you say in your song: "Let's pretend we're just two people and you're not better than me.
