This band rocks, no question about it. This band kicks ass in any form, no matter who is singing for them (although, I do like the Ozzy stuff best). Some of my favorite songs are "Iron Man" (obviously), "War Pigs", "Black Sabbath", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", "Electric Funeral", and "Symptom of the Universe." "Symptom of the Universe" "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" are some of my favorite metal songs in general. Sabbath rules!

OK how about a little more info : Black sabbath started out in Birmingham england and some consider them the start of heavy metal when everyone was singing about peace and love Sabbath took a darker path, other bands that came out of Birmingham are Foghat Ok more hard rock than metal But an other band that followed the metal was Some guys named Judas Priest Who saved metal when all the hair bands came out

The group found its signature sound almost by accident. When the group was rehearsing in a studio, which was situated opposite a cinema showing a horror movie, Osbourne recalls that Tony Iommi remarked to the rest of the band how it was strange that people willingly paid to see a movie intended to scare them. The band began to purposely write dark, ominous songs in an attempt to be music's answer to horror films, and in rebellion against the prevalent happy pop music of the 1960s. In a VH1 documentary about the band, Ozzy Osbourne recalled the laughable lyrics of radio-friendly pop at the time, such as "if you ever go to San Francisco, be sure to wear a flower in your hair...," - "screw that,", they said, "let's go over there and possess people."
