My thoughts: Well, this one was pretty unpredictable! I thought it was gonna be one of the heaviest albums of the 70's but I was fuckin wrong, wasn't I? This is some of the most UNEXPECTED SHIT you could ever hope to hear Gene Simmons, of all people, do..... but I love it. It really was a great album, only a couple of tracks I really could have gone without, which I'll get to later. It's musical value was very high, and it's all worth the listen in the end.
Track List
1. Radioactive
10/10
Very very good song, despite the extremely misleading introduction. The most KISS-like (minus a couple) on the entire album, it really was a great song.
2. Burning Up With Fever
10/10
An equally good song, also wouldn't sound that bad with KISS. Has a pretty cool chorus.
3. See You Tonite
10/10
A beautiful ballad that they KISS actually did do in 1996 for MTV Unplugged. Very very good song I think.
4. Tunnel of Love
10/10
Things aren't as heavy with this one, but it is still a really good song and it makes the album worth listening to.
5. True Confessions
2/10
Giving this a 2 to be nice. Truth is, this song really really sucks. Definitely something I never wanna hear him sing again!
6. Living in Sin
10/10
This song definitely makes up for the last one. It's pretty much about what Gene does when he isn't in concert during a tour: staying at hotels fucking chick fans. Pretty good. Also has one of the most hilarious choruses I have ever heard. "I'm Livin In Sin at the Holiday Inn!"
7. Always Near You/Nowhere to Hide
8/10
The first part of this song, Always Near You, is a great beautiful ballad, very very good. Unfortunately, at the end, it does that goofy 70's shit and changes the song up and is "Nowhere to Hide" and it royally sucks! That's too bad because the Always Near You Part was very good.
8. Man of A Thousand Faces
8/10
An ok song, I barely listen to it, but not too bad. I am guessing it's about Lon Chaney Sr or something.
9. Mr. Makebelieve
10/10
A VERY good acoustic ballad, one of the best I have ever heard! This song would even have made KISS: Unmasked seem worth the listen if it were on it!
10. See You In Your Dreams
10/10
A way better remake of athe song that KISS did on the "Rock and Roll Over" album, this time with female background vocals. This version is a hell of a lot better than the KISS version for sure! But there is a dark side. Now that we are done with this song it leads us to the awful, the horrifying, the unbelievable......
11. When You Wish Upon A Star
0/10
There is a simple question to ask about this song. And that question is:WHAT THE LIVING MOTHERFUCK WAS GENE THINKING?!?!?!?!?!?! So what the vocals are really good this is a fucking DISNEY SONG!!!! Gene if your reading this don't ever do that again!
Album Rating: 9/10
Final Words: Thiis was really really good album with very high musical value, it's definitely worth a few listens, the only reason it gets a 9 is because of True Confessions and (ugh) When You Wish Upon A Star. But other than that it's a reallly good album, and all KISS fans should hear it.
