Did anyone else see this? It wasn't that great, but it was much better of a remake then the remakes that are going on now. Who else has seen it?

It was a fucking disgrace to the original, one of the worst remakes ever. Of all the recent remakes in the past few years i'd have to go with the TCM one. I hope the Black Christmas remake will do justice to the original.

The original was much better but I didn't think the re-make was too bad. The gore was great.

as a remake it was good. it was actually more of an adaptation of the original. it had some very clever parts in it. like the elevator scene where the guy says "i like this song" while they are trying to escape from the zombies, etc. it tried a little too hard at times to be an action film. but it worked for me. you can't always compare these to the originals. i liked the direction this film took better than copying everything Romero did exactly in original one.

my little input taken form a thread i started on another board Whatever happened, however it started, overnight, the world has become a living nightmare of surreal proportions, with the planet’s population hit by an inexplicable, unfathomable and lethal plague -- and the dead aren’t staying dead. Corpses yearning for their next meal are now stalking the few remaining survivors, driven by their insatiable hunger to feed upon the flesh of the living. After a terrifying escape from her suburban Wisconsin home on the morning after, Ana Clark (SARAH POLLEY) runs into a small group of the still-living, including: a stoic police officer, Kenneth (VING RHAMES); Michael, an unassuming electronics salesman (JAKE WEBER); a street- rough Andre (MEKHI PHIFER) and his pregnant wife. This ragtag group seeks refuge in a fortress of the late 20th Century -- an abandoned, upscale suburban mall. As the world outside grows more hellish, as the ever-increasing army of decomposing zombies tirelessly strive to infiltrate the mall, the survivors battle the undead, each other and their own fears and suspicions. Sealed off from the rest of what used to be the world, the mall’s inhabitants -- now one of the last bastions of humanity -- must learn to co-exist with each other and use every available resource in their fight to remain alive, and more importantly, human. When there is no room in hell, the dead will walk the earth… A re-envisioning of George A. Romero’s apocalyptic horror classic 25 years later. I love this movie, its just a rollercoaster ride right from the start till the end of the closing credits. The first ten/fifteen minutes is imo, the best opening to any movie i can r.e.m.e.m.b.e.r The zombies are fast, very fast making you feel in a lot more danger, you can't just walk past these suckers. The charaters are well acted by the stars, Sarah Polley i thought was supberb. The same discussions will still go on - which is better the orginal or remake. Who cares, both films are fantastic, both stand on their own merits, and there is room for both of them in everyones collection.
