Film director Robert Clark and his son Ariel were killed in a car crash near Los Angeles early Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Clark, who was 67, was best known as the director of the classic 1983 holiday movie, "A Christmas Story," and the 1982 coming-of-age comedy, "Porky's."
The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. Clark and his 22-year-old son were found dead at the scene in their Infiniti, the newspaper said.
"The driver and passenger of a second vehicle were taken to the UCLA Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle faced charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol," Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Kevin Maiberger told the newspaper.
Maiberger said speed was a factor in the crash.
"I'm not sure if that means one car, or both cars were speeding," he said."
They didn't bother saying he also directed Black Christmas.

Yeah. And I just read he was killed by an illegal alien driving drunk. Notice how that particular fact was not mentioned in the article I qouted above. Unbelievable the shit people put up with in this country.

Dick Clark is dead too? LOL no I think he's still around but judging by what he looked like on New Year's Eve, he'll probably be the next one to go.

On the version I have, I think Clark is one of the guys on the commentary track. I wonder if the recent re-release has him on it. It's a good flick but the ending did not satisfy.

That's the reason why it's one of my faves dude, the ending left us wondering, a great movie does that. I just saw the remake, the murders were more humorous than anything else, i hope that was the directors intentions.

It had some decent kills but was convoluted....it didn't make much sense to me. This was supposed to be a remake? What a joke

The remake was terrible. I hated it so much. I love the original and was so disappointed with the remake. The script seemed like it was written by an amateur high school student. The reason why they wouldn't leave the house was pathetic. I could come up with a better excuse. They made it seem like the weather was bad so they could have incorporated that into the reason why they couldn't leave the house. There's a killer in the house and they stay there so that someone will be there when the girl gets back. OMG that was beyond pathetic lol. The writer should be ashamed of the script he wrote.

Well, there were a couple of funny kills...the icicle part and when he threw the skate at the woman's head lol but it didn't have the claustrophobic feel of the original and the script did indeed suck. I like the way those older films look with the rotary phones and no caller ID and no computers. Films can't be too scary today when all you have to do is dial 911 with your cell phone lol.

Yeah that's very true. Cell phones ruin a horror movie. It was scarier when someone was in the middle of now where or stranded somewhere and couldn't get to a phone to call 911 for help. There was more suspense. In horror movies today all they have to do is call 911 from their cell phones now matter where they are and it takes away from the suspense.
