Uh, horror4ever, you do realize that they've showed Myers as a kid many many times in the series, i don't get what your point was there. Shit, the series started off with Myers as a kid.

It's not really the fact that he's showing Myers as a kid but the fact that he's trying to explain Myers and who he is. Myers is a mystery and it should stay that way. Sure we have a brief history of who he is but that's all we need. We don't need to see Myers as a kid making paper masks and having Myers masturbate. That's just ridiculous! You don't see Myers as a kid "many, many" times throughout the series. You only see him a few times and it isn't even for very long. Even at the beginning of Halloween you see from Myers view and only see him standing there until the scene fades to keep who he is a mystery. Almost all the scenes that explained who Myers was as a child were deleted because the directors think it would humanize Myers and turn him into something he's not. You DON'T turn the boogeyman into something human. You DON'T go to the root of evil and try to explain it. When you explain the unexplained it's no longer a mystery and it takes something away from the evil. Having Myers make paper masks and having him masturbate doesn't seperate him from the others in the Psych-Wards. It just blends him in with the rest. Myers is pure evil and stood apart from the rest. TO EXPLAIN HIM WOULD TAKE AWAY EVERYTHING THAT MYERS IS!
I doubt Zombie knows much about the Halloween series and who Myers is. If he did he wouldn't be doing what he's doing. Zombie should just stick to directing it and have someone else write the script.
Besides look at the kid he cast as a young Myers. That's just stupid casting and almost everyone I talk to agrees.
I still have faith that Zombie will do a good job. I think he is the best one to direct it, just unsure about writing it. I know that it will be a huge improvement over Resurrection & hopefully he doesn't dig to deep into Myers past. We'll just have to wait and see.

You go by rumours and i don't, never have because about 1% of them are usually true.

I don't really go by rumors all that often unless it comes from a respected source like Fangoria, Bloody Disgusting, etc.. But obviously Myers will be shown as a child since we have the actor playing Myers as a child. Almost all of the rumors I heard for Resurrection were in the film. The major rumor I heard was about how Myers will come back after getting his head chopped off in H20 and the rumor was 100% correct; detail for detail. Alot of things are rumors but at times, the ones coming from legit sources aren't usually rumors. I guess we can only wait and see. I'm sure I'm going to really like the movie except for a few things.

Personally I cant wait for this. Rob Zombie has proven to me at least he has what it takes to make a great horror film. The Devil's Rejects was brilliant in my opinion.
Sure, I'm a little worried when ANYONE remakes a horror classic. But like I said, I feel better knowing it's someone who genuinely loves the genre.
Oh yeah. Hey all, 1st post =)

Welcome to the board mucklebones!, great to meet ya man. I've been a fan of RZ since his White Zombie days, i think it goes back to 1990(i was about 15) or so and this guy has done to horror movies what he's done music, made it fucking awesome!!!, the guy knows his shit and is a huge fan of the genre and i know above all odds that he will come out with a kick ass version of Halloween and make the horror world proud. I hate remakes but with a horror god like RZ in the drivers seat it can't go wrong, the guy is dedicated to the genre.

Screw everything I said, RZ's Halloween is going to be fucking awesome! Whether the rumors are true or not I have confidence he's going to make it all work and this will be one of the best Halloweens in the series. He did an awesome job on House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects and he knows the horror genre and knows what he's doing. I got caught up in all the negative remarks towards his version and forgot how amazing his last 2 movies were until I watched them again last night.

lmao, maybe my last post made you realize what RZ means to the genre, then again, it could because his work speaks for itself.

Even if the rumors are true I know RZ will still make a kick ass movie. HOTC and D.R. both were awesome and RZ's work does speak for itself. I know alot of people hated HOTC but I loved it and D.R was just as good, if not better. Forget everything I said in the previous posts, I must have been on crack lol.

lol, damn crackhead : P . I just commented in another thread that they changed the release date of it, i'm really choked about this, it's not going to have the same effect coming out on August 31st, it will still rock but i think it's waaaaaaaay to early to come out, i bet the big bosses are bugging RZ to get it out earlier so they can start making cashola.
