10. Eddie Van Halen - He revolutionized rock guitar playing. Everybody wanted to be like him with his two handed tapping and awesome tone. He inspired millions to pick up the guitar. He is a flat out amazing player.
9. Stevie Ray Vaughan - If you haven't heard Texas Flood (the album, not the song) you should definately give it a listen. He is without a doubt the king of blues rock guitar. He was, and is, a legend. He would never stop playing. He certainly was amazing. R.I.P.
8. Kerry King - The man behind some of the most evil riffs in the history of metal. That's right kids, this is the guitarist for fuckin' Slayer! Fuck yeah! This dude can bring the house down with his evil riffs and "all over the place" solos. Can't wait for Slayer's new album later this year!
7. Kirk Hammet - The music he has made with Metallica is phenomenal. He can make some of the most hard hitting metal riffs and combine them with swift clean playing and put together some of the coolest songs you'll ever hear. A perfect example of his playing style is the song "One" from Metallica's "...And Justice for All" album. He was and still is great.
6. Jimmy Page - What can I say that hasn't already been said about him? The former Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin has always amazed people with his hard rocking, folky, bluesy style. Just listen to Led Zeppelin's Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven and see what I mean.
5. Dave Mustaine - With his crushing riffs and rhythms, he has dominated with early Metallica and Megadeth since day one. He is a metal legend, an icon, and just a flat out badass guitar player. He also has a badass signature V!
4. Jimi Hendrix - I know it sounds cliche, but if it weren't for this man, people wouldn't be doing what they're doing today. He used effects, wah pedals, distortion, and feedback and created some of the greatest guitar music of all time. R.I.P.
3. David Gilmour - The guitarist of Pink Floyd. He has created some of the greatest solos of all time, including the solo to Comfortably Numb. He shows that speed doesn't make a great player. He has a very emotional touch and has created some of the most famous music in rock history.
2. Randy Rhoads - His solos were, as someone once said: "A song within a song." He came up with the famous riff from Crazy Train and the evil riff from Diary of a Madman. He is loved by millions of guitarists and music lovers worldwide. He was great. R.I.P.
1. Tony Iommi - The inventor of metal. He is one of the most famous guitarists in heavy metal history. With Black Sabbath, he created some of the greatest riffs in metal history, including Iron Man, Paranoid, N.I.B., and Sweet Leaf.
