Twitch of the Death Nerve by Bava in '71 or so, was the first "slasher". Blood Feast was the first "gore" film.

i was thinking the same about halloween that was the first thing that poped into my head but in savage weekend the killer wore a rubber mask also remember the mask on the wall i think of a monkey.

The killer didn't "slash" anyone in that film, though. From what I remember, you only saw a glimpse of him.

Yeah,too bad we never got to see Micheal Myers face! Actually, yes you did. Remember at the end of part 1 Micheal and Jamie Lee Curtis are in that hallway upstairs and she pulls his mask off? You get a quick glimpse of him there.

This is a hard question for me really. I think it has alot to do with someone having a sick and twisted dream or maybe just a really good imagination . But the start is so far back that i don't have a clue really that is just my input.
