On Halloween 1963, the small town of Haddonfield is shocked when six-year-old Michael Myers returns from trick-or-treating and for some unknown reason stabs his older sister to death with a big kitchen knife and is found by his parents staring into space with the bloody knife in his hand. Sent to a mental institution, Michael spends the next 15 years just sitting, still staring into space despite the best efforts of his Doctor, Dr. Samuel Loomis. Now, on October 30th 1978, something triggers Michael off and during a storm manages to steal a car from Dr. Loomis and Nurse Marion (who was coming to take Michael to a court to keep him locked up) and goes back to Haddonfield where he steals a white mask. There, Laurie Stode, Micheal's younger sister, finds that Michael is stalking her during the day (at school, at her home etc - but she doesn't know who he is.) As Dr. Loomis arrives and with the Sheriff frantically looks for Michael he doesn't know that Laurie is baby-sitting Lindsey and Tommy and that Laurie's friends Annie, Lynda and Bob are disappearing one by one... 6/10 it did not stand the test of time

it totally disagree with you on this film. sorry but carpenter and hill's vision were much better thought out than most anything we ever see now and have seen since. it has some cheesy parts yes, but you always do when you are dealing with a movie that involves teenagers. as a villain, "the shape" as they referred to it was great. this movie was more about the uncertainty, never knowing where danger lurks. and that is why i like this movie so much. the ending was my favorite part. i guess thats just my thought. one of my favorite films.

It's one of my favorite films as well, and I never get tired of watching it, but I think I know what Mork is getting at: it doesn't seem nearly as scary today as when it first came out. I remember the first time I saw it, it really had an impact on me, especially toward the end, when Michael kept getting up when you thought he was dead. Then at the end you find out that he is unkillable, which was a great ending.
But then all the sequels came, plus the Friday the 13th movies and the whole slasher sub-genre, many of which ripped off HALLOWEEN, especially the ending. There was even a movie, CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL, that used the unkillable character as a running gag in the movie.
So it is impossible to see HALLOWEEN in the same way as when it came out. The same thing is true for any popular horror movie that gets copied. I still consider it a classic, though. When it first came out, it was groundbreaking, and unlike so many of the subsequent slasher movies, it had interesting characters. This is probably one of the reasons why it holds my interest even though I have seen it several times.

I remember when Herman said shit about Halloween (then later said it was one of his favorites) and so is this guy.... hmmm? And he posted this review in MY SECTION originally... also kinda makes you think, huh? I remember when Herman said he would be doing my reviews. This review fucking sucks. Halloween was great! And so was Halloween 3, stop ragging that one!

I liked Halloween 3. Maybe it shouldn't have been part of the Halloween series but I still think it's a great movie but would have been better if it was a series of it's own. And anyone who gives Halloween a 6/10 is insane.

I'm sorry but I still don't like it. I for some reason bought the DVD about a year ago and watched it and said, well? When I was lil it scared me but now it's seems just like a rated G horror film.

I liked part 3 myself I thought it was great when the main star having a drink and seeing Halloween part 1 advertise on TV. As saying Halloween was was just a movie and this part 3 was real life, very deep if you ask me.

Halloween 3 is given a shitty rating SOLELY for not having Myers in it. 90% of the people who say shit about it haven't seen it, or saw 5 minutes on TV.
