Not sure if you consider it Sci-Fi or horror, its a bit of both. but i LOVE this film! i recently bought it. it is such a fun movie. has some great lines in it of course one of the favorites being, "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubble gum". that is classic. and one of my favorite scenes is where Nada and Frank are beating the crap out of each other in the alley because Frank won't put on the sunglasses...LOL. Any other fans of They Live?

Any other fans of They Live? shit this has one of the best one liner in it. like that part the cop says where did you get these glasses from "THE TOOTH FAIRY!" This has to be one of the best Sci Fi movies ever at least to me. and the fight scene? shit it went on for a good 10 min long one of the best one on one fights in a movie but you can't but help to wonder if this shit is true to a sence.

This movie is great , I really enjoyed it and i do believe to that in some ways it is really like that here. the first time i watched this film i really thought about all the subliminal stuff. it makes you think when you look at all the billboards, magazines and everything, can you imagine if we could really see what the advertisers were thinking when they crammed products in our faces? this film is one of my favorite carpenter films, and it probably is right up there with Halloween. thats how much i liked the message of this movie.

I know for a fact that they have stuff like that , I know they have to . I have always thought that . I wouldnt be surprised if they do . But does anyone else get annoyed when they tell what is right and what is wrong to do with your life ? I mean like what to eat and how to dress and how to act . It is kind of like that out here . I swear to god this place is really bad with people making you feel like you are not like us. They think we should be programmed to act and think like them all .

I agree 100% with you. I could go more into it but I would be going on forever and it would just eventually start to piss me off so I'll leave it at that.

I could go more into it but I would be going on forever and it would just eventually start to piss me off so I'll leave it at that. understand completely. but thats what a lot of people don't get about good directors they sneak in great social commentary into their films. carpenter is great about that, as is romero. horror people really get that where as some others don't see it, they only see gore and nudity. i guess the old adage you only see what you want to rings true. there are real messages rolled into the fun of the films we watch, you just have to have an open mind. messages and social issues just don't come packaged and addressed in dramas that get nominated for awards.

I hate when Romero does that shit. I don't want to see any left-wing crap in horror films!! And even though I tend to be on the conservative side, I don't want to see ant right-wing stuff either. Leave the politics for historical films.
